My first move towards Green For Life

Somtimes is very common that people might think of I am very Green in her life because she is secretary of Green Club.... But the fact is I NOT GREEN AT ALL!!! *sigh*

I go out buy food did not bring my own container...
I go out shopping without bring reusable bags...
I did not practice recycle principles in my daily life....
I did not make my own garbage enzyme....

Although...

I always tell people to bring their own container to buy food and not to use Styrofoam..
I always tell people to bring reusable bags to go shopping ...
I always tell people to keep all their recyclable items...
I always tell people how to make garbage enzyme...

Anyway starting from today onwards. I want green my life!!!!

I had started to bring my own container to buy food...
(although I might forget to bring it)
I had use less plastic bags and slowly I believe I can starts bring reusable bags to go shopping...
I had started to keep thing that can be recycle instead of throwing all of them into rubbish bin
I had make my first garbage enzyme although Mr Chin forget to help me ask the ratio of making garbage enzyme.. (Never mind if I fail to make it, I will ask Mr Chin do one for me)

Actually Go Green is not that hard as what we think. :)

By the way, this coming Saturday, 28th March 2009 is Earth Hour 2009. Let's us switch off all the lights for one hour from 8.30pm to 9.30pm. You can make a difference and Mother Earth will love you all. My family will support this event in our own house, you can do this as well.

Garbage Enzyme

You might wonder what is garbage enzyme. Let tells you what garbage enzyme is.... READY for our journey??? Here we go!!!!

Garbage Enzyme
~ complex organic substance of protein chains and mineral salts and juvenile hormones.
~ as a result of catalysis, the ozone is produced to reduce carbon dioxide which helps to fight global warming
~ can be produced easily with organic waste from our kitchen

Now, have you get a clear picture on Garbage Enzyme?? Maybe you are wondering now, what is the function of garbage enzyme... Yes, a perfect question!!! You may use it in your daily life such as........

Usage of Garbage Enzyme

In your house:~
~ household cleaning liquid
~ remove foul odour, molds, grime in the kitchen and toilet
~ as an anti-bacterial and anti-viral agent
~ drive away insects
~ clean carpets and remove ticks
~ laundry washing and ironing
~ mopping floors
~cleaning cars

How to do it?

First, you need a plastic bottle, brown sugar, and some unwanted fruit skin or organic waste from kitchen.


1 part of brown sugar + 3 parts of kitchen waste + 10 parts of water


Take Note: In the first month of fermentation, you will need to open the cap to release the gas out else the bottle will burst....



After 3 months, the enzyme are ready to use!!!

Note: The residual can be reused again for next round by adding new garbage or it can be dried, blended and buried in the ground as fertilizer.

Green Week 2009~ In a nutshell

Finally, all the updates on Green Week 2009 are posted...

The events is perfectly match with its theme and also our tag line 'Green For Life'. Just a little bit imperfect. Perhaps next time we can do some improvements in our food fair. Instead of using styrofoam to serve food why not we bring our plastic container to serve food?

Quoted from someone says that: "Inside, we're promoting recycling. Outside, we're creating rubbish." ( No offense)

Why we are creating rubbish? Why we concern on our own convenience only while we know that we suppose not to do so?? I think is time for us to have a Say NO to Plastic and Styrofoam campaign for a better future.

Miss LeeLee brought alot of environment friendly stationary come. Their pencil are made from magazines or old newspaper. Their notebook are made from sugar cane fibre.

Last but not least, hard work from our working committees should not be forget... hehe.. Next updates will be on our working committees who has work for so many months.... More and more faces will be shown here..hehe

Green Week 2009 updates~2

Green Week held on 2nd March until 6th March... A series of activities being done during this whole week to raise awareness among public that the importance of go green. We had exhibition, food fair, visit by school students, Talk by Juslife, games and activities, and the most attracting part would be 2 Ipod to be give away!!!!!!!

During the preparation of the event, I had to admit that it is tiring but is worth to do so...especially when you saw your event is a successful one.... For a newborn club, such scale of event is not an easy job... without support from various party, this event could not be real... Thanks all my fellow friends......

We managed to invite Majlis Perbandaran Sepang to sponsor us some trees to be planted in University area and at the same time to officiate our event. We managed to invite Kakiis to go green with us and they are the sponsor of the 2 Ipods.. We also managed to get O'bon to sponsor souvenir to our visitors from primary school and secondary school. We also invite quite a number of NGOs to exhibit in the exhibition. More updates on our exhibitors will be posted..hehe...

Now talks about our poster.... With the theme Green For Life, we wants people to go green forever in their life.. Our 3 little mascot who actually represents the 3 color recycle bin.... And they are kinda cute and lovely... whenever think of this mascot, think of Green Club,... isnt is very nice??

Green Week 2009 updates~1

Green Week 2009 is the last event that I joined while I am still the secretary of Green Club. Green Club, a new club in Multimedia University and it started in July 2008. We manage to organize a bid scale event like this with the manpower less than 20 peoples... Woohoo.. Great job!!

I think we start preparation since last semester. We started the earlier planing and also invitation to all the potential exhibitors. I think we had sent out invitations to more than 20 organizations and schools as well to invite them to come join us in Green Week 2009.

Some of my friends are asking me why I am joining this Green Club and make yourself so tired? Actually I also don't know. because my president force me to do so ma... haha... Kidding only.. For me, I think this is part of our responsibility to do so, Think of our future generation, think of your health, this is a must for each of us to do something for our Mother Earth, to our Environment...
